SWOT Analysis External Stakeholder Evaluation
The SWOT analysis of our Center, presented below, has been shared with our internal and external stakeholders, and feedback has been received as attached. Accordingly, feedback was received from one internal and one external stakeholder. Emails were sent to external stakeholders, including Ayşegül DEDE, the manager of KIDSNOOK (Children's Bookstore and Fairy Tale Academy); Çağla YIKICI from ASAM (Association for Solidarity with Asylum Seekers and Migrants); Dr. Elif ERBERK from Van Yüzüncü Yıl University; and Burcu M. ARIK from ERG (Education Reform Initiative). Dr. Elif Erberk responded to our email sent on November 15, 2023. Based on her recommendations, we have completed our SWOT analysis evaluation according to the external stakeholder's feedback.
Dr. Elif Erberk, who conducts studies on children from disadvantaged backgrounds and educational inequalities, evaluated our Center's "interdisciplinary programs to support disadvantaged children" as a strong aspect. The interdisciplinary structure of our Center's management board is very strong in this respect. Additionally, the projects and activities we carry out at ÇABAÇAM also add strength to our Center in this regard. The feedback on our Center's weak point, "insufficient recognition," is very valuable. The global pandemic slowed down some of our activities, and we aim to improve this aspect with our first face-to-face event, the "Being a Child in the 100th Year of the Republic" panel held on November 1, 2023. To this end, we plan to publish educational bulletins on our Center's website, with the first article scheduled to be published in the last week of December.
As Dr. Elif Erberk pointed out, we are aware of the need to improve the education of children living in disadvantaged regions at the local and national levels. We are conducting the planned research with this goal in mind. As Dr. Elif Erberk also noted, being a child in an age of crises is very challenging. These conditions adversely affect children's education, health, shelter, and many other needs and rights. Therefore, our Center continues to diligently carry out its work with great care.
