Assoc. Prof. Dr. ​Emine Ferda BEDEL

Dr. Emine Ferda BEDEL works as an Associate Professor at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University.

She received her undergraduate degree in 1996 from Hacettepe University, where she studied psychology. Shortly after completing her undergraduate work, she won a Turkish Ministry of Education scholarship. She went to the US in 2000, earning an MS and a PhD in Early Childhood Education from Penn State University.

During her doctoral studies, she also received The Pennsylvania State University Office of International Programs Tuition Award and The Pennsylvania State University Graduate School Tuition Award. After receiving her doctorate, she returned to Turkey and served as Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University faculty in 2006.

In broad terms, her research interests include teacher training, early childhood education, and development. Specifically, she focuses on metacognitive awareness, teacher attitudes, locus of control, and other personality traits.
