2024 SAYL Project Meeting

The meeting organized by Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University within the scope of the Erasmus+ School Education Cooperation Partnerships activity of 2022, for the project titled "Stimulating Adventures for Young Learners - SAYL," was held at ÇABAÇAM on May 23-24, 2024. Researchers from partner countries, including Norway, the Netherlands, Germany, Malta, and Turkey, participated in the meeting in Çanakkale.

The meeting on May 23, 2024, was opened by the Project Coordinator, Assoc. Prof. Burcu SARI UĞURLU, who briefly informed the participants about the project's and the meeting's objectives. The opening ceremony was also attended by the Rector of Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University, Prof. Dr. Ramazan Cüneyt ERENOĞLU, who expressed his pleasure at the visit of all project partners to the university and thanked the European Commission for their support of the SAYL project.

During the two-day SAYL project meeting, Asst. Prof. Sezen ÇİÇEK APAYDIN from our university's Faculty of Education presented the ÇABAÇAM Model to the project partners, while Asst. Prof. Bora UĞURLU from our university's Faculty of Engineering informed the partners about the data analysis processes. The project meeting concluded with a visit to the Troy Archaeological Site and the Troy Museum organized for all participants.

The primary aim of the SAYL project, coordinated by the University of Stavanger in Norway, is to create a digital platform containing multilingual and interactive digital books aimed at preschool children. This 36-month project seeks to encourage early reading and create equal reading opportunities for all children through digital children's books.
